The development and the consolidation of positive relationships between groups and the people that constitute a territory or that share the same public space are necessary conditions for the growth of a common sense of responsibility and of social inclusion.
Paths of participation based on the principles of social, economical and cultural sustainability support the growth of awareness, the overcoming of discrimination and the appreciation of common and personal potentials.

Persefone – Percorsi di partecipazione e sviluppo is a cultural association. It was founded in 2008 by a group of people that were already active in cultural and social associations in Turin. The purpose of the association is to put together the professional experiences of the members in a new project with the aim of promoting an example of development based on participation, on integrated approach and on social, economic and environmental sustainability.  It’s an opportunity to reflect on themes concerning human rights, gender equality, social inclusion, overcoming of stereotypes and of  those processes that create discrimination.

The association pursuit the aims of:

• Promoting a new example of development based on participation, on integrated approach and on social, economic and environmental sustainability;
• Promoting local development, in particular paying attention to groups at risk of or living in conditions of social exclusion;
• Facilitating social inclusion in the process of development and empowering groups and local communities enhancing their competences;
• Overcoming any kind of discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, disability, age or based on social, economical and  geographical contexts and promoting diversity as value;
• Promoting the respect of human rights.

The association uses methodologies in line with its aims, therefore it is based on participation and non-violence. Moreover the association intends to experience and promote good practices and innovative tools of communication, project management and activities.

Persefone – Percorsi di partecipazione e sviluppo offers professional advice to public and private bodies on:

•  social analysis and participative planning, assistance and supervision of the processes involving stakeholders’ inclusion;
•  planning and management of public events that promote individual and collective human rights;
•    studies and scientific research;
•   exchange of good practices among groups, associations and public bodies at local, national and international level.
